CAHPERD STANDING COMMITTEES
EDITORIAL BOARD
WHO?
The Office Committee is composed of three members appointed by
the President for three-year terms. One of the committee
members shall be appointed by the President to serve as Chair for
a one-year term. It is highly advisable to select Committee
members who live in close proximity to the state office.
WHAT?

Purpose. The purpose of this Board is to carry on the
mission and goals of the CAHPERD Journal/Times with
specific responsibility for the refereed section of the Journal.

The mission of the Journal is to advance the common goals
and unique roles of CAHPERD professionals committed to improving
the quality of life through the movement arts and sciences,
health education, sport and leisure. (1)
- Goals of the Journal
Serve CAHPERD and its members by providing a valued service
which enhances interest in, loyalty to and cohesiveness of
the organization.

Provide accurate, current information in an
interesting and succinct manner to CAHPERD professionals.

Encourage scholarship and research and communicate
implementations for professional practice in the State of
California.

Identify, analyze and critique events, trends
and issues of importance to the professions. (3)
- Stimulate thought and action by providing
a forum for discussion and examination of contrasting
views and alternative actions. (4)

WHEN?
The Editorial Board shall have two regular meetings a year, one
in the summer or fall and one at the Annual State Conference. Other
business may be conducted through correspondence. Special
meetings may be called by the Editor, if approved by the President
of CAHPERD.
