INVESTMENT COMMITTEE

WHO?

The members of the Investment Committee include the Chair, appointed by the President with approval of the Board of Directors, for a four-year term (three (3) as chair and one as chair-elect); Chair-elect, appointed by the President with approval of the Board of Directors in the last year of four-year term of the Chair; three members of  CAHPERD, appointed by the President and approved by the Board of Directors for three-year, staggered terms; Investment Advisor (ex-officio, non-voting), appointed annually by the President, with the approval of the Board of Directors; Treasurer (ex-officio, non-voting); and Executive Director (ex-officio, non-voting).  Current members are Karen M. Johnson (Chair), Bob Flavin (Member), Perky Vetter (Treasurer), Jon Hubbert (Investment Advisor) and Quentin Christian (CAHPERD Executive Director).

WHAT?

  • To monitor both the short-term and long-term investment portfolios of CAHPERD.

  • To review annually the investment guidelines and recommend changes to the Executive Board. 

  • To monitor investment decisions to ensure that they fulfill the investment objectives of the financial policy.

  • To evaluate annually the performance of the Investment Advisor.

  • To recommend annually the appointment of the Investment Advisor to the President

WHEN?

The Investment Committee generally meets twice a year, once at the CAHPERD Conference and once in the summer at the office of the Investment Advisor.
