CAHPERD STANDING COMMITTEES
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
WHO?
The Scholarship Committee shall consist of a Chair and two additional
committee members. Members of the committee shall serve three-year
staggered terms. During a term on the committee, a member shall
serve at least one year as chair. Committee members are appointed
by the President, after consultation with the Vice-Presidents.
One member of the committee must be a member who expresses an interest
in the Multicultural Dynamics Section. Efforts will be made to
have both northern and southern California represented on the committee.
WHAT?

Works with the House of Delegates in determining the
qualifications for the John F. Kennedy, the Winifred Van Hagen/Rosalind
Cassidy and the James Echols Scholarships so that majors in all
fields of CAHPERD have equal opportunity in the selection process.

Works with the CAHPERD office to see that scholarship
materials are in the hands of the Executive Director for distribution
to the appropriate schools.

Reviews the applications for the scholarships and recommends
to the House of Delegates those students who should be the recipients
of the awards in the amount approved by the Board of Directors.
WHEN?
The Scholarship Committee conducts its business primarily through
mail or electronic mail. Special meetings may be called by
the Chair if deemed necessary.
