-
Liked intent and rationale - good conceptual and philosophical
approach.
-
Liked business-like structure and organization. Checks
and balances are in place. Term limits are a good idea
to avoid dominance by a few.
-
Structure allows for functionality & flexibility
and still focuses on the content of HPERD. Liked reducing
the number of voting members on the BOD to increase
efficiency.
-
Broad based representation via Leadership Councils.
Multiple people making up the councils = more opportunities
to serve CAHPERD and spreads out the workload. Looks
like a great way to get more people involved. Flexibility
within Councils is positive because not all councils
have the same interests/support.
-
Liked separate conference planning committee and having
one member from each Council serve on the conference
planning committee.
-
Liked how PE is broken up. Liked the equality
for Elementary PE, Middle School PE and High School PE – should
make it easier to meet the needs of the membership.
-
Liked the idea of leadership development by District.
-
Liked professional liaison (identified CAHPERD member)
for each school district (Most regions and units
are too large or distant for effective contact. Having
an identified member in each school district would be
a much more personable contact.)
