BASIC BELIEFS

  • Recreation plays a major role in promoting healthy lifestyles and participation in quality family leisure activities.
  • Recreation and leisure opportunities should be available to all citizens through appropriate school and community programs.
  • The value and acquisition of lifetime recreation skills and the pursuit of leisure activities should be encouraged in all educational programs.
  • City, county and regional agencies should cooperate with schools to maximize the use of funding, personnel and facilities in providing quality recreation programs.
  • Intramural recreation programs should be available to all students on a continuing basis in all schools and colleges.
  • Recreation programs and personnel should be included in all plans for restructuring schools.
  • Recreation programs and personnel should be included in all plans for charter schools.
