Promote quality programs of physical
education in the elementary schools of California
through: |

1. |
Providing communication between consultants,
elementary school teachers, elementary school physical
education specialists, other administrative offices
and teacher preparation personnel. |
| |

2. |
Providing effective assistance to the
classroom teacher: |
| |
|
|
a. |
Directly at the local level by providing
in-service education, summer workshops, curriculum
materials and consultant services. |
| |
|
|
b. |
Indirectly through administrative and teacher associations
by encouraging and conducting sessions of physical
education at meetings or conferences. |
| |
|
3. |
Contributing articles about elementary
school physical education to professional and popular
magazines or other news media. |
| |
|
4. |
Assisting in publication of professional
opportunities available to those who are prepared
to teach physical education at the elementary school
level. |
| |
|
5. |
Providing statewide leadership in elementary
school physical education. |
| |
|
6. |
Conducting the annual elementary school
physical education conference in conjunction with
the State Conference. |
