Description & Mission

The purpose of the Retired Members Section is to provide to its members as many opportunities as possible to stay active in health, physical education, dance, sports, recreation, social, and professional activities.
Mission To achieve this purpose the following functions are essential:
    1. Maintain an updated file of information on, and a roster of, all retired members of the CAHPERD professions for purposes of good communication relative to:
      a. historical information
      b. information for news items and awards
      c. selection of retirees as speakers, consultants, legislative advocates, etc.
    2. Actively support CAHPERD membership drives and promote retiree membership.
    3. Participate in professional and social activities at the unit, region, district, and state levels.
    4. Develop a strong organizational structure through which retirees can continue to provide leadership and be appropriately represented within CAHPERD.
    5. Cooperate with all other groups within CAHPERD and other associations to promote programs, benefits, and recognition to active and retired professionals in all related fields.
    6. Keep all retired members, and all other CAHPERD members, informed about activities and programs of the Section, and actions taken by governing bodies and committees of CAHPERD through publication of articles or news items in the CAHPERD Journal/Times, and/or retiree newsletters (“Senior Moments”).
